WoW, I'm Off and Running

So, after years of contemplation; years of wondering whether or not it was a good idea to start playing an MMORPG, even though I was told by many people I know that I would probably enjoy it, I finally took the leap and joined the World of Warcraft.

So, in July, I finally decided it was time to take the leap and play the game. I started off by makeing a run after work to Best Buy to pick up the World of Warcraft warchest.

I brought it home, installed, setup an account, downloaded the patches, and started playing. It was a three day weekend, and I took advantage. I started my Night Elf Hunter Flystalls and began to level him up over the weekend. I continued to play a bit during the next week, but after a little ribbing by my family, I decided to take a break for a couple of days. These couple of days turned into a month and before I knew it, WoW wasn't even a thought any more. I had only managed to level my character up to level 21 and seen so little in the game.

So, during the New Years holiday, I had a four day break. During the first day, I lazed around the house and watched a couple of movies and TV shows, but was beginning to get a little bored already after having four days off the previous week for Christmas. So, on day two, I was sitting at home and decided to check in on my favorite webshow, The Guild.

I watched the available episodes of season 2 and really enjoyed it, just like season 1. One thing that it did as well, was to spark my desire to try out WoW again. So, I pulled out the discs, installed it on my new laptop, got an additional 3 months of play and began downloading the patches. This took somewhere around 5-6 hours. I had completely given up on getting to play that night. I went outside, smoked, and when I came back in, they were finally done. I figured I would play a couple of hours and then go to bed. However, five hours later, I finally signed off, knowing that I was hooked. Not in a bad way though, I had found something that I would enjoy over the holiday.

So, I continued to play over the weekend and continued through the next week. I have now been playing for 15 days. I have only not played at all on three or four of those days. I am currently up to level 31 with my new Night Elf Hunter Laseryl. More on him to come.
